Agility in Leadership & Organizations
I recently completed certifications in Agility in Leadership™ and Agility in Organizations™ through a two-day course with Brad Swanson at Agility 11. The experience was practical, grounded, and packed with real-world tools I could immediately apply.
This wasn’t just a training to check a box. It deepened how I think about leadership and validated many of the approaches I already bring to the table. At its core, the course focused on how to lead with adaptability, especially during times of complexity and change.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was recognizing when and how to flex different leadership styles. Strategic vision and tactical execution both matter, but knowing when to shift between the two is where the impact really happens. The course helped me sharpen that discernment.
Another highlight was the Catalyst Conversation model, a five-part approach that helps leaders engage more intentionally in one-on-one conversations, team discussions, and change efforts. It’s about leading with curiosity, inviting insight, and guiding action without taking over. I’ve already started using this in team settings to create more space for ownership and shared direction.
We also spent time exploring the Competing Values Framework, which helps diagnose cultural tensions in organizations: what’s rewarded, what’s expected, and what actually happens day to day. Understanding those dynamics is critical when you’re helping a team shift how they operate.
What I appreciated most about the course was how actionable it felt. These weren’t abstract ideas. They were usable frameworks that align with the work I do every day: helping organizations move forward with clarity, trust, and alignment.
If you're a leader navigating complexity or helping others through change, I highly recommend this certification. You can find more information here. And if you’re curious about how this work could support your team or organization, let’s talk.
